i have driven a number of toyota prius’ and observed that sometimes when placing it in reverse, a rear view camera appears on the display screen. was curious if it was a regular or not on all priuses.
how do you turn on and off the rear view digital camera?

The reverse camera became a new attribute offered on Toyota Prius (with alternatives, not the base model, but on the vast majority) starting up with the 2006 model year (portion of the minor redesign).

“A new rear back-up digital camera is now available as an choice. The rear digital camera instantly tasks an picture of what the lens can detect behind the vehicle onto the dash-mounted LCD display monitor when the car is in reverse gear.”

exhibits that the backup camera is obtainable only in selected option packages.
The reverse digital camera displays on the monitor when you shift into “R” (reverse). When you shift out of “R” (reverse) into an additional “gear,” the display reverts to regular display.

Just place the Prius in reverse. The camera will come on IF you have it.
It comes in the Prius with the package #two through package #6.
As soon as in reverse, it comes on. Place the automobile in drive and it shuts off.
